Health and Safety

California Resources Corporation (CRC) has a strong commitment to health and safety. We work actively to reduce hazards in our operations by setting consistent expectations in our job planning and contractor selection, empowering and training our workforce as safety leaders, and supporting them with safe work practices, technology and rigorous maintenance and asset integrity programs.

Applying the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Injury and Illness Incidence Rate (IIR), which measures the rate of recordable injuries per 100 full-time workers, our California workforce achieved their three best annual combined safety performance ratings from 2014 through 2016 in the decades-long history of our operations . Our 2016 IIR of 0.49 was less than one-sixth the 2015 average IIR for private industry as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In addition, our employees received four Occupational Excellence Achievement Awards in 2016 from the National Safety Council for their exemplary safety performance across our statewide operations.
